This year’s VAWS was the largest team we had ever taken a big effort that really paid off. Judge of the Section B’s was Sandy Goodwin UK. Youngstock day saw us showing Tooravale Harlech (Weston Manhattan x Imperial Honora) the two year colt owned by Melinda McKenzie and Judy Stevenson who won his class.

The yearling fillies were next our own Tooravale Chiffon (Weston Manhattan x Weston Park Candice) and Tooravale Cheree (Weston Park Vision x Tooravale Celeste) owned by Clive and Jennifer Hastie of WA, the two were placed 1st and 2nd in a very large quality class of fillies. Tooravale Choisya (Weston Park Vision x Tooravale Celeste) was next in the two year old filly class which she won and went on to be Reserve Champion Welsh Pony Filly, it was a thrill to see three Tooravale ponies in the Championship, thanks to the expert handlers David James, Geoffery Mark, Jack Forge and Michael Gates for helping out.

Day two was senior day, first in the ring for us was the senior dry mare class with Tooravale Celeste (Weston Manhattan x Weston Park Candice) she was placed 2nd to the lovely and eventual Supreme B Weston Park Mirrabelle.

Our senior brood mare Tooravale Cameo (Weston Manhattan x Weston Park Cassandra) was the eventual winner of her class amongst some very impressive ponies.

Her foal Tooravale Cairo the first born progeny by our recently exported stallion Tooravale Houston was 2nd in a quality class of foals. We also had wins in the owner’s pair and progeny pair by Weston Manhattan. The evening classes saw us competing for the Torlyn Award for Best Progeny Pair of the Show, we thrilled when the three judges selected our Manhattan pair as the winners, a very emotional win for us as we had only lost Manhattan the month before.
